#DelogueUncovered: Addressing ESG, Sustainability, and Supply Chain Solutions

Welcome to the new edition of #DelogueUncovered - We receive many questions from our community about best practices, industry insights, and how to get the most out of Delogue PLM. That’s why we created #DelogueUncovered - a knowledge-sharing series where we address some of the most frequently asked questions from our community.

In each article, we’ll dive into the top three questions on everyone’s mind, providing expert insights and actionable answers. Let’s get started!

What are the biggest ESG challenges currently facing the fashion industry?

The fashion industry is facing some big ESG challenges, and they’re not easy to tackle. On the environmental side, there’s the heavy use of resources like water and raw materials, pollution from dyes and microplastics, and the carbon emissions that come from making and shipping products.

Socially, issues like fair wages, safe working conditions, and ethical labor practices still need a lot of attention. And when it comes to governance, brands are under pressure to be more transparent, avoid greenwashing, and keep up with stricter regulations.

Solving these challenges isn’t simple, but it’s necessary. It’s about rethinking how we work and finding new ways to create a more sustainable and ethical future for fashion.

How can fashion brands start integrating more sustainable materials into their collections?

First, brands need to evaluate their current materials and identify where they can make swaps - like replacing conventional cotton with organic cotton or opting for recycled fabrics instead of virgin polyester.

Building strong relationships with suppliers is key, too. Brands should work closely with trusted suppliers to source certified materials, ensuring they meet standards like GOTS, Oeko-Tex, or Bluesign. It’s also about experimenting with innovation - looking into emerging options like biodegradable textiles or plant-based alternatives to leather.

Education plays a big role as well. Teams need to be informed about sustainable choices, so they can make decisions that align with both creativity and impact. And finally, transparency is essential. Sharing the journey with consumers builds trust and shows the brand’s commitment to sustainability. Small steps lead to big changes!

How does Delogue PLM facilitate transparency and traceability in the supply chain?

We are providing a centralized platform for managing all product and supply chain data. With the addition of the Supplier Module, it takes this to the next level by streamlining collaboration between brands and suppliers.

Brands can map their supply chain at both style and item levels, creating a clear overview of suppliers and sub-suppliers involved in production. The module allows for attaching certifications, transaction certificates, and other essential documents directly to the mapping, ensuring compliance and accountability.

Suppliers also benefit by having a single login to manage their data, add their own certifications, and build a library of their sub-suppliers. This collaborative approach ensures that both brands and suppliers can track and verify every step of the supply chain, reducing errors and improving trust.

With everything documented in one place, Delogue PLM helps brands meet regulatory requirements, prove their ESG commitments, and foster a more transparent and traceable supply chain.
